We will describe the philosophy and architecture of Famo.us, an open source, pure JavaScript framework soon to be released to the public. Famo.us renders WebKit-based experiences which even exceed natively-developed UI using its innovative rendering and physics engines. 

Building consumer-quality applications in HTML5 has traditionally been about getting the vast benefits of web technology while sacrificing something major: beautiful, responsive UI. Why do web-based applications always fail to win awards from designers, or devotion from users? The reason: We've been rendering web applications like they were web documents. This new approach produces applications like you've never seen, until today.

Dave Fetterman is the VP of Engineering at Famo.us.  Previously, he worked at Facebook as an engineer and manager starting 2006 , where he founded the Facebook Platform and ran Facebook's mobile engineering efforts (web, iOS, Android, and backend) from 5 million to 500 million users.  He works primarily for the betterment of software engineers.  He has a degree in applied mathematics from Harvard University...
